Anna & Chris are Married! 05.14.2011

First Congregational Church, Ann Arbor, MI wedding planned by TwoFoot Creative

Anna & Chris were married on May 14th at the First Congregational Church in Ann Arbor. Rev. Robert Livingston did a beautiful job with the ceremony! Betty is the church coordinator; one of my very favorites to work with!

Golden Limo trolley downtown Ann Arbor

The bridal party arrived at the church in a trolley from Golden International, and had some time to touch up hair and makeup and relax a bit before the ceremony. Their photographer, Wendy Martin, started with them earlier in the day and had already gotten some amazing shots (I will share later) as did their videographer Lee Thomas.

Entrance piece and escort cards at Polo Fields, Ann Arbor

While I was at the church making sure everything was set and ready to go, two of my assistants were at Polo Fields folding napkins, inserting menus, placing donation cards and kisses, setting up escort cards, pictures and the guest book, and making sure everyone was arriving and setting up as scheduled!

Guests began to arrive right on schedule at 6pm, and were greeted with passed appetizers and drinks at the bar. Their band, The Sun Messengers, started with a recorded set during cocktails and dinner before starting their first set at 8:30.

When the bridal party arrived, we got their bags from them, lined them up for the grand entrance and took drink orders for the head table before handing the announcements off to the band. From there, everything went according to schedule - dinner, dances, tosses and opening up the dance floor which stayed packed all night!

Their cake came from Mary at Jefferson Market and Cakery in Ann Arbor. It was served as dessert, either lemon with raspberry filling or chocolate.

Congratulations Anna & Chris - it was a beautiful day!

Unique Wedding Venue: Fisher Building, Detroit

Filed under: Venues — twofoot @ 11:15 am

The Fisher building in Detroit was built in 1928, and is known for it’s beautiful art deco skyscraper.

Sandra Stanton at the Fisher Building is one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to talk to. She is in charge of events at the Fisher and she is very knowledgeable of the history of Detroit and you can tell she has great pride in this building.

Your wedding can take place in the main lobby hallway of the Fisher building after the stores have closed.

When you look at these pictures your taken back to the time of the 1920’s when it was first built, and if your looking for a regal elegance in a venue this place is it. This venue is truly unique in that you get to design how your event will look since everything has to brought in. However, the Fisher Hall all ready comes with some amazing extras, marble flooring, gorgeous chandelier lighting and even gold faucets in the bathroom. These are the extra touches that will help to create an event like no other.

If your guest count is under 250 this place would be a great place to check out and experience in person. The rental fee for the building includes the lobby rental, a refundable deposit, if there are no damages, and a representative from the building in case of an emergency or extra help.

There is something truly romantic about getting married in a place so beautiful and with such a grand history a part of it too. Call TwoFoot Creative so we can book you an appointment!

I Love Vintage! Library Card Catalogs

Filed under: Planning — twofoot @ 11:20 am

Card catalog to use as wedding decor

I’m sure many of you have heard the saying “Nothing is new under the sun.” It’s so true when it comes to trend styles. While many things aren’t new, we find new uses for them… like these vintage library card catalogs.

Card catalog to use as wedding decor

I’m a fanatic over them! For weddings, you can use them as sweet tables, family photo displays, or even a creative way to hold your escort cards. For home, they’d be great as kitchen islands, jewelry dressers, or any stylish furniture piece.

Card catalogs are so versatile, I’m going to add one to our baby’s nursery. If you happen to pick one up, send us a picture!
