Liz & Mike 10.18.2008

Filed under: Weddings — twofoot @ 7:06 pm

Liz & Mike had both their ceremony and reception at Wellers, which was quite risky considering their late fall wedding date! We made sure to have a backup plan in place in case of rain or extreme cold - but it ended up being about 60 degrees and sunny! The grounds there are beautiful, so there is no doubt in my mind that they will get some amazing photos from Francisco Photography.

The day of the wedding, we arrived at their hotel around 1pm just to make sure everything was starting off smoothly. From there, we headed to Wellers to start setting everything up and making sure the vendors all arrived on time. Liz had pressed hundreds of leaves to use as decor on the tables, and we added a ribbon runner to each table as well. I love ribbon runners - you can add as few or as many as you want, use different colors, and it is so economical! She also tied the twigs and twine around the votives pictures above, which turned out very nice. Very creative!

The cake (created by Queen of Hearts) was phenomenal, especially the white cake with berries was a huge hit! Centerpieces and personal flowers were brought in by Maureen’s Designs - vases with river rocks and orchids for the tables, and fall-colored bouquets with calla lilies, orchids, and berries for the girls. She also stayed to help me pin on all the bouts, which most florists don’t do - so that was a great help!

And of course, the ring picture! Liz is having her bouquet made into a painting through betty@curly-art.com, possibly to include the invitation they had done through Custom Paper Works (all the paper products looked great!).

Congratulations on a beautiful wedding Liz and Mike, I hope you have a wonderful life together!

Lana & Keith October 18th, 2008

Filed under: Weddings — twofoot @ 7:12 pm

I had previously booked a wedding on October 18th when Lana contacted me last year searching for a Day-of coordinator. Fortunately, I have phenomenal people that work with me and Katie took on the responsibility of lead coordinator for Lana and Keith. I was there for everything leading up until the wedding day, and here is what Katie has to say about the wedding day itself:

“My assistant and I arrived at Laurel Manor bright and early to set up Lana and Keith’s luncheon reception. Lana was an amazing DIYer, and had made her own photo centerpieces as well as an amazing, hand painted monogrammed banner for the head table. We also set up her scrumptious looking candy buffet, decorated her cake table with rose petals, and got everything in order for the reception. Since Lana and Keith had such a tight wedding day schedule, we wanted everything to be all ready for the reception well ahead of time.

After getting the reception ready, we headed over to the church where we set up more amazing DIY items that Lana had made, including lighted pew bows and a gorgeous hand painted, monogrammed aisle runner. After seeing the bridal party down the aisle, I headed back to Laurel Manor while my assistant stayed at the church to help pack up Lana and Keith’s stuff. Back at Laurel Manor, I made some final touches to the reception set up, synced schedules with the banquet manager and the DJ, and got Lana’s hostesses set up to run her Polaroid guest book station. Guests started to arrive followed shortly by Lana and Keith. Laurel Manor served a delicious lunch followed by cake and ice cream, and then Lana and Keith danced with each other, their parents, and their bridal party. After about an hour of open dancing, guests began to leave. My assistant and I loaded up Lana’s parents’ cars, and the reception was over by 4 pm. This was the first luncheon wedding that I had been to, and seems like a great way to have an elegant reception while still saving a lot of money!”

Congratulations Lana and Keith on a beautful wedding day, we all wish you the best of luck and happiness in the future!

More Bouquet Paintings!

Filed under: Bouquet paintings — twofoot @ 8:07 pm

I recently put my wedding dress back on for a “trash the dress” photo shoot with one of my favorite photographers, Amanda Williams. I used the opportunity to display the newest CurlyArt creation - bouquet and invitation preservation on canvas! I just love it, it adds a brand new dimension to the art work for those who were in love with their invitations and want to display it alongside flowers and petals from their bouquet!

Chrissy’s bouquet painting has also been completed! Her wedding was July 5th of this year. The background colors in this are just gorgeous when you see it in person, the computer screen just doesn’t do it justice! Congratulations Chrissy on a beautiful painting with your bouquet flowers!

Terrah’s Bouquet Painting is Done!

Filed under: Bouquet paintings — twofoot @ 11:51 am

Terrah got married on August 2nd, 2008 (scroll farther down the blog!) and had her bouquet shipped off to Curly Art (betty@curly-art.com) to have it made into a painting. Well, the painting is completed and here is the final product! It is beautiful - the flowers have been layered to create a very real and three dimensional effect. Congratulations Terrah!
