I have been working with Julia’s mom Mary for the past several months, planning her daughter and Sam’s wedding which will be taking place this September. They were having such a hard time deciding on a floral designer for the wedding, that Mary had each florist she was considering audition for the job!

The winner was an arrangement created by Sweet Pea Floral Design here in Ann Arbor. I am very excited to work with them for the first time!

Christine and Steve contacted me over a year ago, knowing that they would need some extra help coordinating their at-home wedding in Dexter, MI. The ceremony took place in Southfield at St. John’s Armenian Church, and my assistant Ashley took care of their rehearsal and ceremony coordination. I stayed at the home with Kristen to make sure everything was set up and ready to go for the reception!

One major issue we faced upon arrival was ants. Once we got the tablecloths on and placed the centerpieces, ants started crawling all over - and there wasn’t even any food around! We did a quick Google search to find out how to get rid of ants, and baby powder (an item I have in my emergency kit) came up. It smells good as well, so we ended up sprinkling it throughout the tent as well as in the centerpieces. It worked!

Since the reception was outside, Christine anchored the escort cards with ribbon and pins to prevent them from blowing away. Fortunately, all the guests were inside the tent eating by the time it started to pour! Since the DJ’s equipment was on the downward slope of the hill, we quickly put up walls around the dance floor, speakers and lights. The caterers from Uptown Catering were great help as well!

The cupcakes and cake to cut were delivered by Gwen’s Cake Decorating in Saline, MI. Since we had the ant issue, I had them put the cupcakes inside the house until the last minute before guests arrived! They were a huge hit, as was the late night pizza delivered from Jets.

For the first dance, we took the dance floor walls down again so guests could watch Christine and Steve. The rain held off just enough - we had to put them back up within the hour! No one seemed to mind the rain though, it added to the atmosphere inside the tent and promoted conversation.

Congratulations Christine and Steve - we wish you a lifetime of happiness!

On April 26th, this beautiful baby entered my life! Emma Elisabeth was a whopping 10lbs., 1oz. and 21 inches long when she was born, and the lovely Wendy Martin captured her newborn-ness at 6 and 8 days old (it took two tried to get the scrunchy sleep shots)!

This is my favorite of the bunch - she has the most adorable smile!

She has a serious face too…

and she is now too big to fit in a standard swaddle!

As balance returns, I promise I will be regularly blogging again!

Yao & Chris were married a year ago today at Island Park in Ann Arbor! To see more from their wedding, the slideshow of photos or video trailer are absolutely gorgeous from Linda Wan and Epic Motion.
TwoFoot Creative provided full-service wedding planning for their Ann Arbor celebration, and they quickly became one of my favorite couples to work with last year! Congratulations you two!

Courtney and Jason were married a year ago today at Van Hoosen Farm - congratulations you two!
