Natalie & Hudson are Married! 10.25.2014

Natalie & Hudson were married on October 25th last year at the First Baptist Church in Ann Arbor, MI. At 5’8″ I spent the day feeling short – the entire bridal party and both families were definitely given the gift of height!

It was a beautiful ceremony, and from there guests made their way to the University of Michigan Museum of Art. It is a beautiful but tricky venue – my team as well as Katherine’s Catering had 1.5 hours to get everything set up and ready to go!

Cocktail hour started in the Forum, so when Natalie & Hudson arrived we were able to show them the reception space in the Apse before guests came in – and they were so happy! I love it when couples have time for this special moment.

Most of the details were DIY projects that Natalie and her mom worked on together, and they came together beautifully! The florist (Maureen’s Designs) did the rest, as well as the beautiful decor from Chair Covers & Linens.

The lighting added the final touch to the ambiance of the evening, from Quest Productions in Dexter, MI.

Mike Staff Productions handled most of the entertainment for the evening, with the exception of a surprise performance that only a few ears knew about…

Michigan’s Friars came to UMMA during dinner for a surprise performance – it was spectacular!

Congratulations to you both Natalie & Hudson – it was a pleasure working with you and your families!

Laura & Sean are Married! 06.13.15

Laura and Sean were married at White Oaks Farm in Dexter. This venue has a special place in my heart, and I am glad that we get to be venue coordinators here as well as planners!

I met with these two about a year and half ago, so we had a lot of time to get to know each other!

This couple was a couple that everyone just fell in love with. They thought more about everyone else on their wedding day then themselves.

Their décor was simple, but elegant. Tracy from Red Poppy Flowers was the florist and everyone as commenting all night how beautiful the flowers were.

For the ceremony Laura’s brother built a arch that Tracy made a floral garland for and we hung mason jars filled with flowers on the chairs to line the aisle. After the ceremony we moved it closer to the barn.

The ceremony was beautiful and our cows even moo’ed at all the right places.

Melanie Reyes Photography was there to capture all the precious moments and these beautiful pictures here are all done by her!

Cocktail hour was by another barn on the property and guests enjoyed food and drinks by Katherine’s Catering who I love to work with, while our bride and groom finished up pictures.

Mobile Rhythm DJ Joe was there for music for the ceremony and the reception.

The cake was from Laura and Sean’s favorite baker in Pittsburg where they lived and everyone couldn’t stop talking about how much they loved the cake!

We set up a s’mores station out by the fire pit, and guests danced and enjoyed the beautiful night!

Favors were jars of jam that Laura made herself!

I love my job so much, I get to meet these beautiful couples who are as equally beautiful on the inside! I am going to miss this couple so much! I know that they have an amazing future ahead of them! Congratulations Laura and Sean!

Alex & Cruz are Married! 11.01.2014

Alex & Cruz were married on November 1st last year at Meadowbrook Hall. It was an absolutely beautiful wedding, and I had so much fun working with them!

Bill Hamilton Designs and Chair Covers & Linens did a marvelous job creating the look that Alex wanted in the room. Everyone fit perfectly in the Christopher Wren, and it looked so pretty!

Mary Ann Productions rocked the night away downstairs once dinner was over. Guests were having so much fun, the end of night shuttle was PACKED!

It was our first time working with BAM Photo, and Zingerman’s created an absolutely stunning wedding cake for the two of them.

Congratulations Alex & Cruz, we are so happy for you!

Megan & Andy are Married! 12.06.2014

Megan and Andy are two of the sweetest people I know. They were super kind and sweet and really only thought about their guests’ comfort and happiness during the planning process.

They were married at Cottonwood Barn in Dexter. The ceremony took place in the Straw Barn, this wedding was December 6th so it was a good thing that the barns come with heat! New Creations by Kate did pipe and drape to create a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and lined the aisle with lanterns and candles.

Megan made a cute stand for hankies to be used for Tears of Joy for the ceremony. After the ceremony guests made their way into the main floor lower level for wonderful food by PrimOvations. They dined on warm appetizers, enjoyed some drinks, and played ping pong and the ring toss game.

Guests found their seats by mini trees that we hung the escort cards on, and went to the second floor for the reception.

The main floor of the barn has an amazing chandelier that greets you as you walk into the room. We placed the head table to sit directly under it and guests surrounded them. The décor was cream with greenery, which New Creations hung green garland on the top beams and adorned each guest table.

I was so excited to work with Dave and Candice from Lamarand Style, their work is so gorgeous and it was fun to work with a someone who I have been following their work!

Megan and Andy’s cakes were made by two of the girls in their bridal party. The cakes were such beautiful and tasted so good!

One of the coolest things they did was they hired a band, The Hackwell’s, that played Folk music. They definitely were not a typical wedding band but fit in perfectly with the guests and everyone had so much fun dancing and listening to the music.

Dinner was a southerner’s dream! It was an elegant BBQ buffet and had everything you could ever wish for in a BBQ.

One of our tasks for the evening included putting out over 250 luminary bags outside and light them. This in normal weather may not have been a big task but it proved to be a bigger project than we thought since it was extremely cold and windy but we made it happen and it looked fabulous at night.

Megan and Andy are two of the sweetest and most down to earth people you have ever met, which makes this wedding even sweeter. I will miss them and I wish them both the best life together as possible!!

Tiffany & Jeff are Married! 10.18.2014

Tiffany and Jeff were married at the amazing Piquette Plant. I love this venue and was so happy to be a part of their special day. This venue, while it is amazing, comes with it owns quirks. There is no heat or AC so you do need to plan accordingly. But the history behind this venue is that it’s where the first model T was produced. So the backdrop for your event has a vintage car history and the feel of how our great city of Detroit was made.We began set up which we used two of the levels and had a room flip after the ceremony so our hands were full.

Tiffany had great taste when it came to her decor. One of my favorite items she brought in was a vintage time card holder that we used as a escort card and then later had guests write on the back of them a personal note to the happy couple and each guest clocked out at the end of the night!

The ceremony took place in the top half of the building. The nice thing about the Piquette is on the top floor they have a wall divider (heavy door) that we were able to roll shut so guests couldn’t see the reception.Guests got to the second floor by the lift that was used to get the cars off the assembly line. Chairs were lined up to create an aisle surrounded by the model T that was produced here. Sweet Beats performed music as guests came in and for the ceremony, and then at the cocktail hour.

Ryan Southen was their photographer, he was great to work with and we hope we can work together again soon. Patisserie Parmentier created a gorgeous naked cake for the wedding.

After the ceremony, guests went to the first floor where cocktail was set up. While guests were down there we
were busy flipping the ceremony space into an area for guests and a place that was draped off for the caterer (Epoch) to set up. Epoch is an amazing caterer and I love working with them. Hotz Catering provided all the rentals for the evening. One of my favorite DJ’s who loves a good party was there to make the night fun – DJ Chuck Boone.

They didn’t just have one favor for their guests, and no one was going home hungry: we had a Faygo bar, hot cider and doughnuts, and then a baker made homemade hostess cakes and Twinkies.

Pot ‘n’ Box was the florist, she created a unique aisle of mixed vases and floral that lined the long rectangle tables that were placed next to each other to fit the space properly.

A guest made their table numbers out of blocks of wood with nails in them that formed the numbers. I just loved all the little details that went into this wedding to make it an experience for their guests.

Tiffany looked amazing and you could tell the Jeff was just as happy as she was to be married and to spend the rest of their lives together. Congratulations!

Kavita & Joe are Married! 08.09.2014

Kavita and Joe were married at Ingalls Mall in Ann Arbor and their ceremony was at the beautiful University of Michigan Museum of Art in Ann Arbor.

Ingalls Mall is a cute outdoor ceremony spot. It’s in the middle of the University of Michigan’s campus and has fabulous architecture that surrounds it. Bill Hamilton Designs set up a beautiful arbor for the ceremony and we laid out programs and made sure the speakers and microphone was ready to go. Luckily we were there early because the first set of speakers delivered were not working so we had to call them back to replace them, but we had the next set up and ready to go before guests arrived.

Kavita and Joe had two good friends officiating the wedding. It was a very beautiful ceremony and had a few Indian customs involved which is Kavita’s heritage. Panache played the music for the ceremony, which was a nice Jazz Trio. After the ceremony, guests could get shuttled to the reception or walk the short distance to the museum.

UMMA ( University of Michigan of Modern Art) is a gorgeous venue to get married at. You definitely need to hire a planner when having a wedding there. There is such a short period of time that you have for set up, and it’s a good idea to have someone there that is watching everything and making sure that everything gets done the way you want it to. That being said, some of our best weddings have taken place at UMMA!

They had their cocktail hour in the forum which is an area that has a gift shop and is outside of the main museum. There is plenty of space for cocktail tables and musicians playing. We had a guest sign-in board and Panache playing while guests enjoyed the amazing appetizers by Moveable Feast, who we love working with!

This also gave us time to finish any last minute things for the dinner and dancing area. Bill Hamilton Designs brought in his long tables that look gorgeous, and he did all the floral for the wedding. Their wedding cakes were by Cake Nouveau who does amazing cakes in Ann Arbor and we are sad they closed up, we will miss them.  Chair Covers and Linens did the linens and the chivari chairs. Wayne from Rock Out Entertainment was the DJ. He is a lot of fun to work with and if you are looking for a DJ who will have great interaction with the guests he is great to work with!

Adam Czap was Kavitas and Joe’s photographer. We really like working with Adam, he is always ready to go and has a great eye for capturing those precious moments!

The family also brought in some traditional Indian desserts that we set up, and we had a few Indian dances that were fun to watch.

I think my favorite moment from this wedding was helping guests with the fake Henna tattoos they brought in. Everyone was getting them, both young and old. The guests at their wedding were all so kind and very sweet. They were all so happy to be there and to celebrate with the bride and groom. While helping with the tattoos we heard stories about Kavita and Joe and it was fun to hear the inside scoop!

After a little bit of dancing Kavita changed her dress from her Indian wedding dress to a more traditional wedding dress.

We will miss Kavita and Joe and wish them a lifetime full of happiness. The night was so much fun and the love that filled the room that night was hard to miss! Congratulations!!!

These pictures were taken by Adam Czap from Czap Studios.

Heather & Randy are Married! 09.07.2014

Heather & Randy were married on September 7th, 2014 at Cobblestone Farm in Ann Arbor, MI. They hired us for day-of coordination, to make sure all the details came together and that their friends and family could truly enjoy the day!

I felt like I truly got to know Heather & Randy from the amazing speeches that were given – you could tell just how special they are to the people that surround them and I love when toasts are that heartfelt.

We helped decorate the barn and worked with the catering team to make sure everything was ready for guests at the end of cocktail hour. When you have long tables like this it is critical to get the chairs as straight as possible!

Congratulations Heather & Randy, we wish you all the best!

Tina & David are Married! 09.27.2014

Tina & David were married on September 27th last year at St. Mary Student Parish in Ann Arbor, MI. They are both pilots, so a flight themed wedding was the perfect solution! It was game day in Ann Arbor, so I had an assistant designated to transportation that day making sure everyone made it into and out of town on time!

As is typical in Catholic ceremonies, there was a gap between the ceremony and cocktail hour beginning. To fill that gap, guests were able to watch a private screening of The Magic of Flight in the IMAX Theater at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI.

We had a rock star crew on our team that day – Bill Hamilton Designs, Chair Covers & Linens, Kurt at Mike Staff Productions, Gourmet Invitations, A Girl In Love Photography, Mighty Good Coffee, Trinity Transportation, Imagine Three hair & Makeup, and Jefferson Market & Cakery.

Coffee beans from Mighty Good doubles as the escort “cards” for guests to direct them to their tables. The floral vessels were covered in images from war era aviation, and the linens were a very classic, simple addition to the room without taking away from any of the other elements.

I learned that when learning to fly, you are taught that airspace is like an upside down wedding cake – so of course Tina & David needed their wedding cake to be upside down!

Gourmet Invitations did an absolutely superb job tying everything together as well – from the save the dates to the invitations to the paper airplane menus that my team folded for hours, it was absolutely perfect. The table names were airport codes, and as much as possible, they were locations that meant something to the guests that sat at those tables.

It was such a wonderful day, and everyone had such an amazing time. Ending the night with dancing underneath the airplane in the Museum was the icing on the cake!

Congratulations Tina & David – we wish you all the best in your life together!

Charlie & Andy are Married! 10.03.2014

Charlie & Andy were married on Friday, October 3rd at the Michigan Union. They posted a lovely review for us on the Knot, so you can read about their experience in their own words!

“Ana was incredibly responsive and supportive throughout our entire planning process. Full disclosure, I am type A and “have everything under control” but I have to say that Ana was essential to our wedding days (rehearsal and day of)!

Ana helped us make decisions leading up to the big day and offered solutions where we got stuck. Her experience and expertise was really comforting when we were debating between one thing or the other. Ana has seen a lot of weddings and her opinion was so nice to have! It allowed us to make confident decisions and not look back so we can keep moving forward with creating a cohesive celebration for our wedding day.

Ana and her team were key to the running of our wedding day – they were so professional, but gentle and understanding with us and our guests (emotions were high!) and really allowed me and my new husband to enjoy every second with each other and our friends and family. Ana saved us from so much stress by taking care of everything. I’m not exaggerating, she really took care of everything on the wedding day.

We had such a fantastic day and evening and we received so many compliments the days and weeks after our wedding about how fantastic Ana and her team were. We are so thankful we booked TwoFoot Creative and would recommend her to any bride and groom looking to spend their wedding day in the moment and not worrying about anything! We love you Ana! Thank you!”

Natalie & Mike are Married! 10.04.2014

Natalie and Mike were married on October 4th, 2014 at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor, MI.

Natalie and Mike are one of the sweetest couples I have had the pleasure of working with, and this wedding was one I had been looking forward to all year!

Natalie and Mike had both their ceremony and reception at the gardens. While the goal was to have an outdoor ceremony, Mother Nature had other plans.

It was a bit chilly for guests that day, but this did not stop Natalie and Michael from capturing some great photos by the amazing Abby Rose Photography!

The beautiful fall colors played off the beautiful fall palette in the florals by Red Poppy Floral Design.

Natalie and Mike were married in conservatory due to the cold weather conditions of the day. Hail to the Victor’s served as their recessional song, and kicked off the cocktail hour which was also held in the conservatory.

The Wine Bar duo played the guitar and the ukulele as guests dined on appetizers and drinks while mingling within the conservatory.

Toasts were given by parents on either side, with an invitation for guests to join the party into the auditorium where a strolling reception was set by Prime Ovations. Guests were able to dine from the various stations which consisted of a soup/grilled cheese station, potato station complete with all the fixings, roast and pasta stations.

Dancing followed with Natalie and Michael dancing their first dance to Van Morrison’s Into the Mystic. Hang on Sloopy was a popular request from the Groom’s side to show his Ohio roots, which allowed for a fun competitive atmosphere on the dance floor!

A highlight of the evening was the home brewed beer supplied by the Natalie’s father, as well as homemade chocolate favor boxes guests were asked to take as the night was winding down.

Thank you Natalie and Michael for allowing us to celebrate your day!
