Kara and Russ were married on November 15th, 2014 with a wedding ceremony held at the Sweetest Heart of Mary in Detroit, MI followed by a reception at the Ford Piquette Plant also in Detroit.

 I was fortunate enough to meet Russ while setting up for another wedding at the Piquette plant earlier that summer. I gave Russ a quick tour and he brought his lovely bride to be Kara back to see the plant for herself.

I booked them shortly after that tour and helped them pull their day together. We went to work right away making sure we were lining up the right professionals for their low key day.

Kara and Russ booked the fabulous Bill Hamilton from Bill Hamilton Designs to pull off their look of purples and reds with a touch of black.

Luxe Linen provided the beautiful silver chivari chairs with charcoal pintuck linens. Kristen Taylor from Kristen Taylor Photography captured all the moments of the day, while Holiday Market Catering provided food and bar service, as well as the delicious wedding cake.

Mike Staff Productions kept us all dancing until the end of the evening.

Kara and Russ held their ceremony for their close family and friends at the church while the team and I got busy to work making sure all the details were set at the plant. Kara and Russ wanted their guests to have the “experience” of the old plant, by having guests take the freight elevator to the third floor where the reception was being held.

Guests were greeted by the TwoFoot Creative staff on site where we helped hang coats and collected cards and gifts while Kara and Russ completed their photos with the amazing Kristen Taylor in the reception space. Holiday Market was busy getting the delicious meal prepared which consisted of different food stations from beef to chicken to keep the reception interactive.  Dancing followed with a packed dance floor with music provided by one of our favorites, Mike Staff Productions. Kara and Russ gave a quick welcome speech to greet their guests before dancing to Ed Sheeran’s, Thinking out Loud.
