Kristina & Christian are Married! 06.30.13

Kristina and Christian are both in the military and it was an honor to help them both have the wedding that they deserved. They were married on June 30th at the historic Mill Race Village. The wedding was officiated by Father Devine who we love to recommend and work with.

When I first met with Kristina she didn’t have anything planned except that she knew she had to have Jeffery Bennett from JLB photography shoot their wedding. She loved his style and it turned out that Jeff and Christian could have been twins! He is definitely a photographer to check out.

The really cool thing about having your wedding at Mill Race Village is you rent the place out and you have all the old buildings as backdrops for your pictures, and guests love to walk around the village while you finish up pictures.

You have a lot of choices of where to have your wedding there, they have a church if you want an inside wedding or  need a rain back up, and you can choose anywhere on the grounds to host an outside ceremony.

Wedding Flowers by Heidi did all of the floral for Kristina and Christian’s wedding and they were all so beautiful. For the ceremony we kept it simple and had shepherd hooks with mason jars filled with flowers lining the aisle.

A vintage car was there to pick up the wedding party and take them around for a few pictures, returning to the Inn at St. John’s for more.

The reception was held in the Atrium at the Inn at St. John’s. Kristina wanted a romantic look, that still had a vintage feel to it. Heidi and I put together a room that did just that, pale pink linens from Chair Covers and Linens, and gorgeous centerpieces were the perfect touch to create the look our couple wanted.

Randy Parker from Mike Staff Productions was the DJ that night and he is definitely one of my favorite DJ’s to work with. I love working with a DJ when together we make a great team and help our couples have the perfect night.

Shutterbooth is always a great addition to any wedding, and who doesn’t love using props and having their picture taken in a photobooth?

Before Jeff left for the night, Christian an Kristina really wanted a sparkler picture. I have never assisted in one of Jeff’s famous sparkler photos and watching him in action was fun!

My favorite moment from this wedding was when one of the bridesmaids gave her speech and asked for all active and non-active military to please stand so we could honor them. Half the room stood up and it was a beautiful moment, and seeing Kristina’s grandpa stand proud melted my heart.

I wish Kristina and Christian the best, their wedding was beautiful and it was a privilege to be a part of their special day!
