Stacie & Joe’s wedding was the official start to our 2011 wedding season, and what a wonderful wedding to start with! Their ceremony and reception both took place at Cobblestone Farm in Ann Arbor, MI – and fortunately the weather held off for an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour!
All the photographs you see here were taken by their wonderful photographer, Jeff of JLB Wedding Photography. They also had the wedding filmed by Shane Tincu Films, who I was very excited to work with for the first time!
TwoFoot Creative was involved with Stacie & Joe’s wedding planning from early on, and they were such a fun couple to work with! Stacie’s mom was there for a lot of the meetings as well – I love being able to work with parents as well, it makes the process so much more enjoyable for everyone!
The personal flowers and half of the centerpieces were provided by Wedding Flowers by Heidi, who did an amazing job! Stacie sent her bouquet in to be preserved as a canvas painting by CurlyArt, and it is going to be a beautiful one! The remaining centerpieces were jade plants from Stacie’s favorite nursery, and the aisle was lined with flowers I picked up at the Farmer’s Market in Ann Arbor.
The wedding day went very smoothly; my assistants and I arrived at 2pm on the dot to set up linens, centerpieces, candles, the ceremony space, and any other items that Stacie and Joe brought (the list was quite extensive!). We also had to do some moving and rearranging of tables to make everything fit and to leave enough room for the dance floor.
The backup tent was not needed for the ceremony, fortunately! So we used it to cover everything for cocktail hour and define that space, and it looked beautiful. I love the small red barn as a ceremony backdrop at Cobblestone! Mary Stevens from LifeCycles performed the ceremony, and the DJ, Mary Ann Ross, played their music.
After the ceremony, Stacie and Joe had a few minutes to themselves while guests started enjoying the amazing food from Moveable Feast during cocktail hour.
About mid-way through cocktail hour, they were introduced into the tent for their first ping pong match as a married couple! The wager? If she won – a puppy. If he won – a TV in the bedroom.
All the guests were gathered on the entrance to the barn for a group picture prior to heading in and finding their seats. The evening began with a wonderful song from the father of the bride – I am so glad they have it on video!
They made trivia cards for each table with questions to entertain guests – some about them, some about general facts they found interesting! I love the idea and will probably be using it in the future 
Stacie’s bouquet was a mix of yellows and oranges, all different sizes of roses. The arrangements were tulips, daffodils, roses, and button mums. It screamed spring!
At the end of the night, we helped pack everything up, handed out flowers to guests as they left, and gave one last congratulatory hug to the bride and groom.
