It was a perfect day on October 8th, I don’t think Kristin and Eric could have asked for a more beautiful wedding day. It began at 10:30 am for TwoFoot Creative, as we arrived at the private residence of Kristin’s parents to begin setting up. We tied chair pads on the mahogany chivari chairs, set up linens, assembled a cupcake stand, and set up each table (napkins with donation inserts, water pitchers, and table numbers).
After we had finished set up it was time to head to the ceremony at Matthaei Botanical Gardens. The ceremony was beautiful and we had everything go almost without a hitch (transportation confusions left Kristin’s side without a ride, so we went with an uncle of the bride to pick them up). That was the only glitch of the day though – fortunately!
One thing that I love about the Gardens is they are ready to help out with anything. From printing out forgotten readings, handing out umbrellas to guests, and making sure that the guests were as comfortable as can be. It is so nice when we can all work together to make sure the bride and groom have their perfect wedding. The gardens make a great place for photography too and I know that Greg Fox got some wonderful pictures of Kristen and Eric.
The food was prepared by chef Brian Polycn from the amazing Forest Grill. Since the bride and groom love everything french it was a dinner of fine french cuisine, and I can tell you it was all Bon Appetit!
I learned something new at this wedding: instead of a champagne toast they did Pastis, which is a french liquor (they said it tastes like black licorice) that is custom to toast at the beginning of a celebration.
One of my favorite set up items for the day was an old shutter that they used to hang the place cards on. It looked so cute once we were done and the guests loved how great it went along with the fall theme.
Kristen and Eric decided to not do a traditional wedding cake so they did cupcakes instead. These cupcakes were from a bakery called Mannino’s and they were out of this world!
Because of it being a residence, it was tricky for parking. They hired Kerby’s Curbside to be the valet for the evening and this really helped guests a lot! They also offered a shuttle service.
The florist (Tom Thompson) brought in the centerpieces that were so charming. Each centerpiece was a wooden box that was filled with fall colors, and with the brown linen it really finished the decor in the tent.
The evening was beautiful, guests dined on great food, we heard some beautiful toasts, and danced the night away with DJ Fast Eddie. It was so cute seeing the kids running around and enjoying the fantastic Michigan weather.
You could tell all guests there were truly excited and happy to be at this beautiful wedding. TwoFoot Creative was so happy to be a part of this wedding and we wish Kristen and Eric all the love in the world!!
