Taking engagement portraits is at the top of the to-do list when a couple decides to bring their relationship to the next level.

In Asia, couples usually take their wedding pictures a few months prior to their wedding, not on the actual wedding date.

They do this in order to have the wedding portraits displayed at the reception for their guests to see.

Wedding pictures in Asia are done this way to make the wedding day less stressful for the bride.

The process usually starts out by choosing the studio and the package.

Normally, the package will include numerous poses in several different types of outfits, as well as make up, a photographer, and photo books.

After the package is set, the couple decides where they want the pictures to be taken. Most couples choose to have both outdoor and indoor locations.

Thank you to my friends, Jorli and Paul, for sharing their beautiful wedding pictures with us.

They got married in Ann Arbor in 2010, and went back home to have one more celebration with family and friends in the summer of 2011. And, of course, couldn’t miss out on taking the wedding pictures!

The outdoor location was at Yangmingshan National Park in Taipei, Taiwan.

The indoor pictures were taken inside of the studio.

More and more studios now offer overseas packages, because couples may work or study in another country.

In most cases, the pictures are taken throughout an entire day (from sunrise to sunset!).

If the couple chooses an outdoor location, which is far away from the studio, then it will take more than one day.

Jorli and Paul told me the schedule of the day was tight and exhausting, however, once they saw the photos, everything was worth it! I think we all agree, don’t we?

Congratulations again to Jorli and Paul!
