Carey & Jason’s wedding at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit was beautiful. Amanda Williams captured some amazing images from their day, one of which is pictured above. To see the original post from their wedding, click here.
Congratulations on seven years of marriage Carey & Jason!
We love planning weddings in Detroit. There are so many old churches and other fantastic buildings to hold a ceremony in. Older buildings tend to photograph well and take advantage of natural lighting more than artificial (and even fluorescent) lighting that you see at more traditional ballroom venues.
Churches often come with on-site coordinators. I still always attend the rehearsal and ceremony, because our team has an overview not just of the ceremony, but of the whole day. Missing such a crucial part of the day would do our couples a disservice. We often get looped into coordination anyways, because one person can’t possibly be all over a large church at once!
At a ceremony, I always have my emergency kit on hand. I have needed things like bobby pins, stain remover and mints quite often! I also like to brush off any jackets prior to their walk down the aisle. Making sure no one is chewing gum is at the top of my list. That bouquets are held low and that coats are buttoned is also my priority!
A wedding at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament can be absolutely stunning. It is a church of grandeur, and very sought after. Make sure you contact them well in advance to reserve your date!
