I was so excited when Jennifer called me to see if I was available to help plan her wedding! Two years ago, I coordinated her sister Aimee’s wedding, and I had so much fun working with their family. Jen was about to hit tax season and didn’t want to be bogged down with all the wedding details – so I stepped in to alleviate the stress!
The ceremony took place at St. Mary’s Parish in Royal Oak, MI. I had two assistants with me in order to be in two places at once – Kristen was folding napkins at the Sterling Inn while Ashley helped me out at the church. There was a lot to do between digging into the emergency kit for stain remover and a steamer, and pinning on corsages and boutonnieres for not only the traditional families and bridal party, but for all of their primary and secondary sponsors as well! I love the symbolism involved in Filipino ceremonies, and will be posting more about that tomorrow.
Jen & John’s flowers were provided by Lynn Jovick of Clever Bumblebee Creations. Lynn is always wonderful to work with and offers to help out where she can which is very welcome! Photography was captured by Breakfast with Adam, and the day was videographed by 11-4 Productions. Guarda Luna brought a coffee cart for guests to enjoy for a few hours, and just in case someone was still hungry, late night coneys came out around 11pm!
The escort card table was adorned with rocks, each of which listed the guest’s name on one side, and table number on the other! Jen had her card box made at Blue Mitten. It was a center book for cards which listed the date of their wedding, and two side books which were titled with Jen’s name on the left and John’s on the right. They also decorated their gift table with photos of parents, grandparents and siblings on their wedding day.
I was in charge of picking up the cakes and cupcakes for Jen – a daunting task that involved annoying several people on the road as I made my VERY slow turns… These were all provided by Back Home Bakery in Canton, MI – including the awesome Aston Martin cake pictured below! Filipino desserts were also on display.
Congratulations Jen and John, it was so much fun working with you both!
