Christina and Morgan were married at the First Congregational Church in Ann Arbor. The coordinator there, Betty, is so much fun to work with! She told me about the church while we were in the receiving area during the ceremony, and one of the most awesome facts I learned is that they also perform commitment ceremonies!
Christina and Morgan did a bubble exit after the ceremony – we lined up all the guests on either side of the main doors outside and handed them bubbles to blow as they exited the church. I can’t wait to see how the photos of that turned out from Venture Photography!
During the ceremony, my assistant Ashley was in charge of making sure the reception was being set up correctly. She also helped me gather all the flowers from the church to re-use at the Michigan Union, which we placed as guests were in a separate room (the Pendleton) for cocktails and appetizers.
Tom Thompson (local to Ann Arbor) did a wonderful job with the flowers; linens and uplighting were brought in by MPE Events from Livonia. The cake from Jefferson Market and Cakery was delicious!
Emergency kit items used included:
- fabric glue to fix the bride’s dress (a heel tore through it during photos)
- video camera (so a guest could film the ceremony)
- tylenol
- tums
- scissors
- stain remover
- safety pins
The escort cards pictured below directed guests to their seats at tables named after different places visited by the bride and groom. They also threw in some joke names for good measure – among them Elvis Presley.
Congratulations on a beautiful wedding you two!
